Mark Williams is the first winner of the Snooker Titans Trophy series, after beating Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-4 in the final. The lads displayed an incredible collection of shots, stealing a lot of "ooh & aah's" from the mesmerized crowd.

Sunday, April 3rd 2016 - this day will probably remain in the Romanian history of snooker as one of the greatest days ever!

A myriad of snooker stars, referred by Alex Crisan, crossed their cues in a superb display of talent and skills, Jimmy White setting a classical snooker meeting with his old time rival, Stephen Hendry, while Mark Williams faced the one and only Ronnie O'Sullivan in the grand final.

22 years ago, Stephen Hendry was meeting Jimmy White in the final of the World Championship at the Crucible theatre from Sheffield. The final scoreline: 18-17 in favour of the Scottish player. This was going to be Jimmy's last appearance in a World Championship final.

Sunday evening they met again, White managing to somehow avenge that lost (plus the previous three he experience by playing Hendry) for he won 6-3.

Jimmy opened the match with a 76 break followed by a tremendous 133 total clearance before Hendry could seriously disturb some balls and use just a top break of 45 to draw level.

But the Scotsman heyday are definitely somewhere in the past, the fact that White is still on the Main Tour and still playing regularly making all the difference, as "The Whirlwind" fired in runs of 70 and 69 to go just one away from victory, at 5-2.

Hendry produced a great 79 to pull back a frame, but his opponent was sure to finish the match in style, with a top break of 52.

A storm of applauses erupted when Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mark Williams entered the stage for their final match: aka. the grand final.

The first two frames were captured by "The Rocket" (breaks of 89 and 109), while Williams only managed to win one before the interval was finding O'Sullivan in charge 3-1.

But after the break, the "Welsh Potting Machine’s" engine started firing in breaks of 127 and 81, hence equalising the scoreline at three apiece.

O'Sullivan put his nose back in front thanks to a 71 break, but the rest of the evening bared Williams' signature as the Welshman won the 8th frame on the black and added a perfect century break of 109 points and an 87 to win 6-4.

Both players received a trophy for their superb performance, while the audience repaid them with a round of applause and some kind of "rugby gathering" when they tried to leave the arena. #LoveIsInTheAir

This concludes the second edition of  #SnookerTitans Tropy with the promise that there will be more. The organizer, Mr Adrian Thiess announced that June is marked on the snooker calendar as "Episode Three" of the Snooker Titans Trophy series, this time the event taking place in Cluj (more on this in a few weeks time).

As for me, I just want to add that I am a happy bunny, thrilled that I got to see the lads in action at home and share this experience with you my dears.

See you all at the next event! #RomaniaLovesSnooker
